The word Diamond comes from the Greek word Adamas (invensible), which was probably applied to any hard rock, such as corundum. The first reference is accurate and undisputed place in Roman literature in the first century AD. The Diamonds know to the Romans had to come from India, which was, until the XVIII century, the only known source of these gemstones. In 1866, the first diamond was discovered in South Africa. In conclusion, diamonds are gems that mean many things and all sorts of people, they can mean eternal love, wisdom, triumph among other things too.
